About
An experimental producer known for atmospheric soundscapes and ethereal, water-inspired electronic textures.
Balam Acab is the project of American electronic musician Alec Koone, who emerged from the Pennsylvania bedroom production scene in 2010. His sound is defined by immersive ambient textures, pitch-shifted vocal samples, and organic field recordings that blend into a fluid, aquatic aesthetic. Signature releases include the 2010 EP See Birds and the 2011 debut album Wander/Wonder, both released on the Tri Angle label. Koone later explored darker, more experimental territory with his 2015 album Child Death and continued releasing music into the mid-2020s. His work remains notable for its ability to balance complex, atmospheric sound design with a deeply personal and vulnerable emotional resonance.
