Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Adam X emerged as a foundational figure in the American techno scene during the early 1990s. Alongside his brother Frankie Bones, he established the influential Groove Records shop and helped organize the seminal Storm Rave events that introduced techno to the East Coast. In 1995, he launched his enduring label Sonic Groove, which remains a vital platform for industrial and techno artists today. Now based in Berlin, Germany, he is recognized for his pioneering work in blending techno with industrial, EBM, and rhythmic noise. His discography includes notable releases such as Audiobiography (1998, Sonic Groove) and Irreformable (2016, Sonic Groove), alongside his widely acclaimed Traversable Wormhole project. His sound is characterized by a raw, uncompromising approach that fuses dark, industrial textures with driving, machine-focused techno.
