High-energy baile funk and club, speed dembow bangers fusing techno and trance

Amor Satyr, the Paris DJ and producer Gaspar Cornuel, builds high-velocity sets around what he calls speed dembow, a fusion of baile funk, techno, trance and breaks anchored by relentless percussion. He runs the Wajang label and is one half of Sexapil alongside Siu Mata, with whom he has released the Nechung EP and material for Modeselektor's Seilscheibenpfeiler. His Latin American rhythmic influences, drawing on dembow, reggaeton and dancehall, stay front and center while he shifts tempo and style across a set. He has played Outlook Festival in Croatia and holds a recurring set on Rinse France, alongside a Resident Advisor podcast. His music pulls global club sounds into a rave-ready framework that has made him a fixture of the international underground.
