Arapu, born Ionut Arapu, is a Romanian DJ and producer central to the country's influential minimal and microhouse scene. He began DJing at 15 and built a style around long blends, hypnotic basslines, and rolling, stripped-back grooves. In 2015 he founded his own label, Liniar, as a platform for his personal sound and like-minded artists, with further releases across Tzinah Records, Memoria Recordings, and Kina Music. He is a fixture at Sunwaves Festival in Romania and has played Circoloco and Caprices Festival in Switzerland, holding a firm place among the selectors who shaped the modern Romanian minimal sound. His sets favor flow and dancefloor patience over quick impact, unfolding as long, narrative-driven journeys.
