Detroit born and Atlanta based, Ash Lauryn is a prominent DJ, curator, and cultural voice dedicated to advancing the Black American roots of house and techno. Her platform, Underground and Black, originated as a blog before expanding into a respected NTS Radio show and an annual event series held during Movement Detroit. She balances a deep reverence for electronic music history with a contemporary approach, frequently blending soulful house, classic Detroit techno, and jazz influenced rhythms in her sets. Lauryn has performed at major international venues including Panorama Bar in Berlin, Nowadays in New York, and Printworks in London. Her production work includes the Expressions EP released in 2020 and her solo debut Truth in 2021, both created in collaboration with Stefan Ringer. Her sound is characterized by a springy, crisp quality that maintains a fundamental drive and intensity on the dance floor.
