London born and New York based, Bearcat is a multifaceted artist whose practice spans DJing, production, and performance art. Her sets are defined by a high energy fusion of jungle, drum and bass, techno, and experimental club sounds, often drawing from her Jamaican heritage and punk background. She gained significant recognition as a member of the Discwoman collective and for curating the Seltzer club night, which prioritized queer and trans artists of color at venues like Nowadays. Her production work includes notable contributions such as the Chromat runway scores and tracks released via labels like Promesses and Haus of Altr. Bearcat approaches her work as a form of dancefloor therapy, utilizing sound to explore themes of healing, spirituality, and political resistance. Her ability to seamlessly bridge disparate genres while maintaining a cohesive, pulsating rhythmic intensity establishes her as a vital, uncompromising voice in contemporary underground club culture.
