Benwal, the alias of Gijs van Ringen, is a DJ and producer from Groningen in the Netherlands and a driving force in the Dutch hard house and trance revival. His sound fuses fast-paced trance, hard house, and UK garage into high-energy, bass-heavy sets. Breakout releases include Dive on Armada Music and the U Need EP on the UK garage label EC2A, often made with studio partner Jonathan Kruizenga. His high-tempo selections have featured across festivals such as Wildeburg, DGTL, and Glitch. He is known for all-nighters and unexpected back-to-backs built on deep record digging. He has become one of the revival scene's most in-demand young names.
