Blawan

Raw, industrial techno veteran delivering experimental, rolling sets.

Jamie Roberts, known professionally as Blawan, is a British producer and DJ originally from Barnsley, England. Emerging from the post-dubstep scene in the early 2010s, he gained prominence with releases on Hessle Audio and R&S Records, including the widely recognized track Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage. His sound is characterized by raw, modular-driven techno, intricate polyrhythmic percussion, and distorted, industrial-leaning textures. Following a period based in Berlin, he has continued to evolve his output through his own label, TERNESC, and recent work on XL Recordings, such as the 2025 album SickElixir. Blawan remains a significant figure in contemporary electronic music, consistently challenging dancefloor conventions through his idiosyncratic approach to rhythm and sound design.
