Carrier is the primary project of British producer Guy Brewer, an artist who emerged from the drum and bass scene in the 1990s before gaining prominence as the techno producer Shifted. Now based in Antwerp, Brewer utilizes this alias to dismantle genre boundaries, blending fractured percussive structures with dub techno textures and ambient atmospheres. His debut album, Rhythm Immortal, released in 2025 on Modern Love, exemplifies this approach by prioritizing space, simplicity, and emotional depth over rigid club formulas. He maintains an active touring schedule, performing at festivals such as Stone Techno and Meakusma, while continuing to release music on labels like The Trilogy Tapes and his own eponymous imprint. By shedding the constraints of his past identities, Carrier represents a deliberate move toward an unbounded and visionary mode of electronic expression.
