Chinonegro, the alias of Peruvian DJ and producer Jorge Davila, has emerged as a significant figure in the Latin American electronic music scene since beginning his career in 2012. Born in Chiclayo, Peru, he developed a signature sound defined by deep, rhythm-led grooves, hypnotic percussion, and subtle Latin-leaning textures. His production catalog includes notable releases such as the Funky Beat EP on 8Bit in 2025 and the Mi Gentee EP on BotaniQ in 2026. He has built a global presence through frequent appearances at iconic venues like Lost Beach Club in Montañita, Ecuador, and international tours across Europe and the Americas. His work is characterized by a patient, intuitive approach to track construction that prioritizes atmospheric progression and dancefloor functionality.
