Techno wizard Chlär delivers groovy, percussive sets for the underground rave.

Swiss born and Berlin based producer Chlär is a central figure in the contemporary techno landscape, known for his precise, groove driven approach to the genre. His performances frequently utilize three or four decks to weave together relentless, percussive loops and original productions that emphasize tribal and primitive rhythmic instincts. He co runs the label Bipolar Disorder Rec and founded the Primal Instinct platform, which serves as a creative outlet for his high concept audiovisual projects. Notable releases include the Optimised Grooves EP on Mutual Rytm in 2022 and the 2024 album The Architects of Shadows. Often collaborating with Italian artist Alarico under the Funk Assault moniker, Chlär bridges the gap between functional club music and experimental sound design. His work matters because it successfully reintroduces funk and syncopated groove into the modern techno framework, offering a sophisticated alternative to the rigid, maximalist trends currently dominating the scene.
