Coastlines is a Japanese production unit formed by DJ and producer Masanori Ikeda alongside keyboardist Takumi Kaneko. The duo emerged from their collaborative work on soundtracks, blending Ikeda's Balearic and downtempo electronic foundations with Kaneko's jazz-informed piano melodies. Their signature sound is characterized by laid-back, summery arrangements that evoke library music and coastal atmospheres. Notable releases include their self-titled debut album Coastlines (2019) and Coastlines 2 (2022), both issued via Flower Records. By fusing organic instrumentation with modern electronic production, the project provides a sophisticated soundtrack for after-hours listening and wind-down sessions.
