London born producer and DJ Daniel Rose Weir, known as Dan Shake, emerged in 2014 as the first non Detroit artist to release on Moodymann's Mahogani Music label with his debut EP 3AM Jazz Club. His production style frequently recontextualizes funk, soul, and disco samples through a modern house lens, often incorporating acid textures and heavy low end. Beyond his original work on his own Shake imprint, he is recognized for his 12 inch edit series Shake Tapes and collaborations with artists like Medlar. A fixture at major festivals including Glastonbury and Dimensions, he maintains a reputation for high energy, genre hopping sets that span speed garage, samba, and house. Dan Shake remains a vital figure in the contemporary scene by prioritizing an intuitive, dancer focused approach that bridges the gap between classic crate digging sensibilities and modern club functionality.
