Karl Francis, known as Dillinja, is a foundational drum and bass and jungle producer based in South London. Emerging in the early 1990s, he helped define the genre with signature releases like "The Angels Fell" on Metalheadz in 1995 and "Grimey" on V Recordings in 2001. Alongside long-time collaborator Lemon D, he co-founded Valve Recordings and designed the legendary Valve Sound System, a custom rig built specifically to handle the extreme sub-bass frequencies of jungle music. His aesthetic is characterized by distorted, speaker-shaking basslines, intricate drum edits, and a rolling, aggressive energy. Remaining a vital force in the contemporary circuit, Dillinja maintains a rigorous international touring schedule in 2026, anchoring lineups at major events like Hospitality On The Beach, WAH Malta, and dedicated Metalheadz showcases.
