DJ Paypal is a footwork and juke producer and DJ associated with the Chicago-born Teklife crew founded by DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn. Working in edit culture, the artist reshapes disco, boogie and soul samples into hyperactive 160 BPM club tracks marked by lush synthesizers and hi-definition sound design. Early releases arrived on Mall Music Inc., the label the artist runs as home to peers like DJ Orange Julius and DJ Mastercard, followed by the Buy Now EP on Glasgow's LuckyMe and the Sold Out double EP on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder. Further work has surfaced through Hyperdub and Planet Mu, cementing a place in the global footwork lineage. Based in Berlin, the artist has toured clubs and festivals across Europe, Asia and America since 2013, with appearances at MoMA PS1, Low End Theory, Roskilde and Dour.
