Dubfire is Ali Shirazinia, an Iranian American DJ and producer raised in the Washington, D.C. area who first reached the world as half of Deep Dish with Sharam, the duo whose remix of Dido's Thank You won a Grammy in 2002. He relaunched as a solo techno artist with Roadkill in 2007 and Ribcage in 2008, founded the SCI+TEC label the same era, and has since built a catalog of stripped, hypnotic techno alongside remixes for peers such as Bjarki in 2026. His live resume includes the Resistance stage at Ultra Music Festival Miami across 2016, 2017 and 2022, a marathon set at Sunwaves Festival in Romania that stretched past 26 hours, Fusion Festival in Germany in 2025, NEOPOP in Portugal in 2026, a six hour night at Gewolbe in Cologne in 2026, and back to back sets with Luke Slater. The dubfire:live HYBRID show fuses his DJ set with live production and custom visuals, a format he has developed since his earlier EVOLV audiovisual tour. Three decades in, he remains one of the few American artists to sit at the top tier of both commercial house history and the techno underground.
