Goldie is a British DJ, producer and cultural figure who has been synonymous with UK jungle and drum and bass since the genres emerged. Raised in the Wolverhampton area, he came up through the early-nineties rave scene around Rage and Heaven before founding the landmark Metalheadz label in 1994. His 1995 debut album Timeless, anchored by the track Inner City Life, pushed drum and bass into orchestral, long-form territory and remains a touchstone of the sound. He has headlined and performed at major stages including Glastonbury, Tomorrowland and Primavera Sound, alongside a parallel life as a visual artist and actor. Decades on, a Goldie set is a masterclass in jungle and drum and bass history from one of its founding architects.
