Ross Birchard, known as Hudson Mohawke, is a Scottish producer and DJ from Glasgow who helped shape the intersection of electronic music and hip-hop. A co-founder of the LuckyMe collective, he gained international recognition with his kaleidoscopic debut album "Butter" in 2009 on Warp Records, followed by the highly influential "TNGHT" EP in 2012 alongside Canadian producer Lunice. His maximalist production style fuses euphoric rave stabs, happy hardcore, and heavy trap percussion, leading to extensive collaborative work with artists like Kanye West, Drake, and Charli XCX. Recent years have seen the release of his acclaimed 2022 solo album "Cry Sugar" on Warp Records and a collaborative project with Tiga in 2023, alongside performances at venues like Knockdown Center in New York and Village Underground in London. His distinct approach to rhythm and texture continues to subvert traditional club structures, maintaining his relevance as a foundational figure in modern electronic music.
