I Speak Machine is the Los Angeles based audiovisual project of musician Tara Busch and filmmaker Maf Lewis. Formed in 2013, the duo merges brooding synthesizer driven electronic music with horror and science fiction aesthetics to create live film scores and visceral synth punk. Their discography includes the 2015 debut The Silence on Lex Records, the 2017 album Zombies 1985, and the cathartic 2022 album WAR. Busch commands the stage with a theatrical persona, shifting between operatic vocals and unhinged shrieks over hammering drum machines. Recent activity includes the 2025 single Guts of Love featuring Gary Numan and Ministry drummer Roy Mayorga, alongside extensive touring with Numan, The Jesus Lizard, and L7.
