Ivan Smagghe is a Paris-born, United Kingdom based DJ and producer widely regarded as a selector's selector, prized for weaving obscure records into hypnotic, left-of-center journeys. He first made his name in the early 2000s electroclash era through the Kill The DJ collective and the duo Black Strobe, later exploring darker club terrain with It's A Fine Line and Smagghe & Cross. His productions and remixes have appeared on fabric, Offen Music, and Live At Robert Johnson, and he counts the late Andrew Weatherall among his longtime kindred spirits. A regular at clubs and festivals across Europe, he treats house, techno, and experimental electronics as one continuous conversation. Decades in, Smagghe remains a defining voice of the leftfield dancefloor.
