James Bangura

Percussive techno and house from a Black Rave Culture innovator.

Washington, District of Columbia based producer James Bangura crafts a hybrid sound that draws from the lineage of house, techno, and jungle. His production style is characterized by intricate, percussive rhythms and atmospheric textures that reflect his background as a former military member and marching band musician. Notable releases include the 2021 EP For The People on HAUS of ALTR and the 2023 EP Harrar / Witness Dub on !K7. As a co founder of the collective Black Rave Culture, he actively champions the history and future of Black dance music through collaborative projects. His work frequently appears on labels such as Incienso, Mister Saturday Night, and World Building, establishing him as a vital voice in the contemporary club landscape.
