John Raffaele is a DJ, producer, and record dealer who was born in New York City and has been active behind the decks since 2011. After relocating to Philadelphia in 2016 he worked with the city's underground crews, then co-founded the warehouse party series Subsurface with his partner Keen in 2017, hosting artists such as Anthony Parasole, Omar S, and Steve O'Sullivan. In 2020 he launched Impressions Philadelphia, a pop-up and online record store that has become a fixture for the city's DJs and collectors. His sets run open format across underground house, techno, disco, funk, and soul, favoring deep, long-form selection over quick peaks. He and Keen have played a Boiler Room in Philadelphia under the Subsurface banner and continue to take the party to New York, Washington, and beyond.
