A fixture of the Los Angeles electronic scene since the mid nineties, John Tejada is a prolific producer and composer known for his meticulous approach to rhythm and sound design. His work spans a broad spectrum of electronic music, ranging from melodic techno and electro hybrids to downtempo and experimental compositions. He has released extensive catalogs on labels such as Kompakt, Poker Flat, and his own long running imprint, Palette Recordings. Signature releases include the 2004 classics Sweat On The Walls and Mono On Mono, alongside his 2011 album Parabolas. Beyond his solo output, he maintains active collaborations including the improvisational house duo Wajatta with Reggie Watts and the project Optometry with March Adstrum. Tejada remains a vital figure in the scene, balancing his work as a recording artist with his role as a professor at CalArts, consistently bridging the gap between underground dance floor functionality and sophisticated studio craft.
