Chicago-rooted house and deep house with minimal, melodic, jacking grooves and driving energy
Kate Simko is a Chicago born, London based producer, DJ, and composer whose sound fuses Chicago house and Detroit techno heritage with a classically trained ear. She emerged through Matthew Dear's Spectral Sound and has since released on Get Physical, Leftroom, No.19, Ghostly International, and Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint. A classically trained pianist, she founded the London Electronic Orchestra, a live electronic classical ensemble featuring harp, strings, and keys, and earned a Masters in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music. Simko has performed at landmark rooms and stages including Berghain and Panorama Bar in Berlin, fabric in London, Movement Festival in Detroit, MUTEK, and the Montreal Jazz Festival. XLR8R named her one of Chicago's Top 10 DJs, and her catalogue spans film scoring, interactive audio visual live shows, and remixes of artists from Philip Glass to Guy Gerber. Her sets stay melodic, driving, and jacking, rooted in the underground yet built for the dancefloor.
