Techno meets West African rhythm; eclectic grooves for deep nights.
livwutang has become one of the more distinctive voices in the current underground because her sets feel guided less by rigid genre loyalty and more by mood, depth, and sound-system intuition. Based in New York and originally coming up through Seattle’s DIY scene, Liv Klutse pulls from deep house, dub techno, bass music, psychedelic club sounds, and rhythms from across the Black diaspora, but the thing that makes her stand out is how emotionally tuned-in it all feels. She can move through hard and soft, meditative and physical, sexy and surreal, without it ever sounding random or performatively eclectic. There is a dubwise patience and introspective energy to the way she builds a room, which is a big reason she has become so respected by actual heads, from her Nowadays residency to appearances across major international clubs and festivals. She feels like one of those DJs whose range is wide, but whose point of view is even stronger, and that is what makes her sets feel so singular.
