Madre Guía is the electronic music moniker of Stephanie Hewett, a Bronx born and Oakland based interdisciplinary artist and dancer. Her work operates at the intersection of movement and sound, utilizing polyrhythmic textures and heavy percussion to explore ancestral wisdom and Black liberation. Her DJ sets and productions frequently traverse humid tropical clubscapes, blending hard hitting 2 step, reggaeton, and dancehall rhythms with techno inflections. She is a member of the bicoastal performance collective RUPTURE and maintains a consistent presence in underground club circuits across New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. Her aesthetic is defined by spirit rooted, alchemical soundscapes designed for collective catharsis.
