Mark Broom is a British techno DJ and producer based in London, active since the early 1990s and widely regarded as a veteran of the UK techno scene. He founded the MB Elektronics label and has released prolifically across imprints including Tronic, BPitch, Soma, Ibadan, and Drumcode, also recording under aliases such as Kasm and Lighter Thief. His DJ sets favor raw, stripped, hardgroove techno played from vinyl, and his most-played rooms include Berghain in Berlin, Tresor, and Corsica Studios in London, alongside streamed sets for Boiler Room. In 2024 he introduced hybrid live shows that extend his studio work to the stage. Decades in, Broom remains a reference point for functional, groove-driven UK techno that still fills peak-time floors.
