Berlin based artist Julian McCarthy, known as MCR-T, navigates the intersection of high energy club music and socially conscious expression. Emerging from the Live From Earth collective, he channels a raw hybrid of ghettotech, Miami bass, and hard techno that reflects his Jamaican American and German heritage. His studio output, including the 2024 album Not The Same, frequently incorporates his own vocals as a rhythmic instrument alongside 80s minimalism and unfiltered rave aesthetics. He maintains a prolific touring schedule with appearances at Berghain, Boiler Room, and major international festivals.
