Based in Bucharest, Romania, Nu Zau is a prominent producer and DJ within the global minimal and microhouse scene. He co-founded the influential vinyl-focused label UVAR alongside Sepp, establishing a platform that has become a cornerstone for the Romanian underground sound. His production aesthetic is defined by groovy, percussive textures, funky basslines, and quirky, hypnotic melodies, as showcased on releases like his 2012 debut Pason/Deja Vu on Fear Of Flying and his 2018 LP La Rascruce on UVAR. A regular fixture at major festivals such as Sunwaves, he is known for sets that seamlessly traverse old-school records and modern, stripped-back productions.
