New York City DJ duo championing queer underground disco and house.
Occupy The Disco is a New York City-based DJ duo composed of Tad Haes and DJ RuBot. Formed in 2011, the project was born out of a shared mission to bring underground electronic music back to the forefront of the city's queer dance floors. Their sound is an eclectic, unabashedly queer blend of classic disco, deep house, and driving club grooves. The duo is best known for their long-running Paradisco daytime residency at Le Bain at The Standard, High Line, while also making regular appearances at Brooklyn institutions like Good Room, Knockdown Center, and Jolene Sound Room. By curating spaces that celebrate the roots of dance music, Occupy The Disco continues to be a vital force in preserving and evolving New York's vibrant queer nightlife scene.
