ODD MOB is one of the sharper producers to come out of Australia’s modern house wave because his records have always had more bite and personality than a lot of generic club tools floating around the same lane. Harry Hope broke through years ago with “Is It A Banger,” but the bigger story is how he evolved into a producer known for chunky low end, weird sound design, and a kind of off-center swing that makes his tracks feel both functional and slightly unhinged in the best way. His sound lives broadly in house and tech house, but he is not really a purist about it. There is a lot of bass pressure, cheeky aggression, and festival-readiness in what he does, especially on records like “LEFT TO RIGHT” and the HYPERBEAM material with OMNOM, yet it still feels rooted in club energy rather than just big-room blunt force. What makes him stand out is that even when the records are built to go off immediately, they still carry a weirdness and rhythmic identity that makes them feel unmistakably his.
