About

Robert Hood is a Detroit producer and DJ widely regarded as a founder of minimal techno. A former member of Underground Resistance, he launched his M-Plant label in 1994 and defined a stripped-back, hypnotic sound on records such as Minimal Nation. He also performs as Floorplan, a gospel and disco inflected house project he now runs with his daughter Lyric Hood, behind club staples like Never Grow Old. His live reputation was cemented by landmark sets for Boiler Room and Dekmantel and regular appearances at Movement in his home city. Decades in, he remains one of techno's most influential and consistently booked artists.
