Scratcha DVA, born Leon Smart, is a British producer and DJ and a defining figure in UK funky, grime, and the wider UK bass continuum. Long associated with Hyperdub and Rinse FM, he released the albums Pretty Ugly in 2012 and Notu Uronlineu in 2016 on Hyperdub, the latter under his experimental DVA Hi:Emotions guise. He is a repeat Boiler Room performer and has held a long-running Rinse FM residency, shaping London's funky and grime sound for two decades. His sets stay restless and sound-system focused, moving through funky, gqom, garage, and left-of-center club music.
