Snakehips is a British electronic production and DJ duo composed of Oliver Lee and James Carter. Formed in 2012 after a chance meeting in Hong Kong, the pair gained early recognition through Hype Machine chart topping remixes for artists like Banks and The Weeknd. Their sound blends contemporary R&B, hip hop, and dance music, often characterized by soulful melodies and polished production. They achieved global prominence with their 2015 platinum hit All My Friends featuring Tinashe and Chance The Rapper, which earned an Ivor Novello Award. In 2021, they launched their club focused label Never Worry Records to curate diverse electronic sounds and support emerging talent. By consistently subverting genre boundaries, Snakehips remains a versatile force in modern electronic music, bridging the gap between radio friendly pop and club oriented production.
