Sofi Tukker is an American electronic dance duo consisting of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. Formed at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, the pair relocated to New York City to develop their blend of house, jungle pop, and global dance music. Their sound is heavily influenced by Brazilian culture, frequently incorporating Portuguese lyrics and bossa nova rhythms into club-oriented frameworks. The duo gained international recognition with their Grammy-nominated 2015 debut single "Drinkee" and subsequent hits like "Best Friend" featuring NERVO and The Knocks. Regularly touring internationally, they have performed at Coachella and Tomorrowland while maintaining a residency at Wynn Nightlife in Las Vegas. Following their 2024 album "BREAD", Sofi Tukker released the jazz-infused companion record "butter" in 2025 and continued their output with singles like "COOK" in 2026.
