Bennett Lewis operates as sonofmidi, a hybrid DJ and producer project blending hard dance music with pop, punk, and emo songwriting. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Lewis developed his sound while studying at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in New York before a transformative stint in Berlin solidified his current aesthetic. His sets and productions span a wide spectrum of intense styles, including drum and bass, trap, dubstep, hardstyle, and hard techno. Notable releases include "hometown" in 2023 and "Ego Wealthy" featuring KAIYI in 2024, alongside mastering credits for Iz LaMarr's 2023 single "SMILE." Recently, sonofmidi performed at Whelan's in Dublin in early 2025 and continues to build a reputation for performances that blur genre lines.
