Rotterdam native Suze Ijó is a DJ and producer whose sound is deeply rooted in the soulful and communal traditions of dance music. Emerging from her local scene as a member of the First Floor collective and a former staffer at the renowned Clone record store, she has cultivated a distinct aesthetic that blends classic Chicago house, uplifting disco, and warm polyrhythms. Her sets are characterized by a deep reverence for the dancefloor, drawing inspiration from David Mancuso's Loft parties to create spaces focused on freedom and connection. Ijó has brought her jazz-inflected and gospel-tinged selections to international institutions like Panorama Bar in Berlin, De School in Amsterdam, and Smartbar in Chicago, alongside festival appearances at Wonderfruit and Dekmantel, where she also curates the Connects stage. Beyond the club, she co-curates the podcast series for Carista's United Identities imprint and regularly hosts shows on NTS and The Lot Radio. By prioritizing musicality and emotional resonance over rigid tempos, she stands out as a dedicated selector who keeps the communal spirit of house music alive.
