Bronx-born and Brooklyn-based producer Marcus Harley operates as Swami Sound, anchoring a modern resurgence of two-step and UK garage within the New York City club circuit. He synthesizes classic garage rhythms with a distinct local sheen, blending atmospheric electronic textures with R&B and pop sensibilities. Harley established his signature sound with his 2023 debut album "Back in the Day" and its subsequent 2024 deluxe edition. He frequently collaborates with fellow East Coast artists gum.mp3 and Dazegxd, forming the collective EldiaNYC and releasing the joint album "State of Emergency" in 2025. Beyond his regular appearances at local institutions like Bossa Nova Civic Club and Elsewhere, he has held a residency at Silence Please and contributed mixes to NTS Radio, dublab, and KEXP. His recent activity includes scoring commercial campaigns for Adidas and Nike, further expanding his futuristic yet nostalgic approach to dance music.
