Indie dance and house sets fusing raw rock edge and live instrumentation with late-night club grooves

Sylvan Paul is a New York City artist and DJ who works between rock and electronic music, a hybrid he calls doom pop that pairs the raw attitude of bygone rock eras with contemporary club production. His original tracks, among them Cool Girls, Drugs, and a cover of Peaches' Fuck The Pain Away, lean vocal and alternative, while his club output includes America and Violence on Brooklyn's Wolf + Lamb Records, the latter reworked in a Lubelski remix. He is a regular in the Non-Friction Records circle, playing DJ sets at the Brooklyn label's parties alongside founder Matt FX. Those sets bridge indie dance and house, carrying the same nostalgic, song-driven sensibility as his productions. He remains a distinctly downtown New York act, at home both writing songs and working a late-night floor.
