New York City native Veronica Vasicka is a pivotal figure in the preservation and curation of obscure electronic music, having founded the influential Minimal Wave label in 2005. She coined the term minimal wave to categorize the pre-MIDI, DIY electronic sounds of the late 1970s and early 1980s that she unearthed through her extensive archival work. As a seasoned DJ, she is recognized for sets that weave together cold wave, industrial, mutant house, and underground techno with a focus on storytelling and historical context. Her career includes a decade of radio programming at East Village Radio and ongoing contributions to NTS Radio. She continues to shape the contemporary landscape through her sublabel Cititrax, which supports modern synth-based artists, and maintains a global touring schedule at major festivals like Dekmantel and Primavera Sound.
