Voices From the Lake is the collaborative project of Italian producers Donato Dozzy and Neel, formed in 2011 following a spontaneous live performance in the Japanese Alps. The duo is widely recognized for redefining ambient techno through a meticulous approach to sound design, blending deep, aqueous textures with patient, hypnotic rhythmic structures. Their self-titled 2012 debut album remains a foundational work in the genre, followed by their 2025 studio album II, released on their own label Spazio Disponibile. They frequently perform in immersive live settings, emphasizing a meditative and narrative-driven experience that contrasts with the high-tempo trends of modern club music. By prioritizing nuance, attentive listening, and environmental soundscapes, the duo maintains a singular position as architects of a deeply introspective and atmospheric electronic sound.
