ZHU is an American producer, DJ, and vocalist who emerged in 2014 with the anonymous, Grammy-nominated single Faded, at first hiding his identity behind the alias. Born Steven Zhu and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he builds a moody, cinematic world of deep house, dark electronic textures, and live vocals that sets his shows apart from a standard DJ set. His catalog spans the albums Generationwhy and Ringos Desert along with the recurring Blacklizt series, and his mountaintop Cercle set in the Japanese Alps became one of that platform's most watched performances.
