Drumcell

Techno

HEADLINER

Based in Los Angeles, Moe Espinosa is a foundational figure in North American techno and a co-founder of the influential Droid Behavior collective. With roots in the industrial and punk scenes, he crafts a raw, hypnotic sound that bridges digital precision with analog grit. His signature style is captured in releases such as the Sleep Complex album on CLR, the Disturbance EP, and his collaborative work on the Flux EP. Beyond his solo output, he has collaborated with artists like Alessandro Cortini and Gary Numan, while maintaining a consistent presence at global techno hubs like Berghain and Movement Detroit. Espinosa remains a vital architect of the West Coast underground, consistently pushing the boundaries of hardware-based performance and sound design. His work stands out for its refusal to adhere to conventional techno tropes, favoring a muscular, suspenseful aesthetic that prioritizes sonic depth over predictable dancefloor mechanics.

Stephanie Sykes

Based in the United Kingdom, Stephanie Sykes crafts a precise and atmospheric brand of techno that balances industrial grit with patient, spacious sound design. Her production work, exemplified by releases such as Black Simulation on VENT and her contributions to the Luna Tactus EP on Fullpanda, frequently incorporates acoustic textures and subtle percussive tremors. She maintains a consistent presence in the European club circuit, with regular appearances at venues including Berghain, Tresor, and Corsica Studios. Her sound often navigates the intersection of driving, dancefloor-oriented rhythms and darker, ambient-leaning soundscapes. Sykes remains a respected figure in the underground scene, valued for her ability to weave complex, emotive narratives into high-pressure techno sets.

The Carry Nation

House

The Carry Nation is a New York duo whose credibility is inseparable from the actual history of queer nightlife in the city. Made up of Nita Aviance and Will Automagic, they play with a deep-rooted, big-room house sensibility that pulls from classic New York house, disco, vocal anthems, darker afterhours energy, and the kind of high-drama dancefloor instinct that only comes from years inside the culture. What makes them stand out is that they do not just feel like DJs playing queer nightlife, they feel like artists who helped shape it. They are especially known for marathon back-to-backs and their long-running Good Room party, and their sets carry that rare mix of theatricality, soul, toughness, and release that makes sense in both proper club spaces and more hedonistic sunrise territory. They read less like a trend-driven act and more like a true institution of New York queer dance culture.

x3butterfly

Bass

Mexican-American DJ and producer x3butterfly (aka Sorrelle/Soso) was raised in Detroit and is now a fixture in New York’s queer club underground. Their breakout came via Boiler Room’s 2022 Paragon broadcast, followed by high-impact sets for The Lot Radio, Rinse FM and PAPER’s The Tear mix series. A Paragon resident and regular at US and EU parties, they balance bass-weighted club pressure with electro, UKG, breakbeat and Latin grooves. 2025 highlights include a Sustain-Release recording and a Dekmantel Selectors set, alongside original work like “fantasy intervention.”

By maintaining a consistent presence in these spaces, Matas has established a reputation for delivering focused, rhythm-forward performances. This commitment to the local dance floor makes Matas a vital contributor to the ongoing evolution of the New York City underground.
