Chris Liebing

Techno

HEADLINER

Chris Liebing is a foundational figure in German techno, emerging from the Frankfurt scene in the mid 1990s to become a global architect of the genre. His career is defined by a relentless commitment to driving, high energy techno, a sound he refined through legendary residencies at Omen in Frankfurt and Tresor in Berlin. As the founder of the influential CLR label, he has consistently championed a pure and powerful aesthetic that bridges dark, sweat drenched club spaces with massive festival stages. His recent work, including the 2026 album Evolver, demonstrates a continued evolution of his production style, blending decades of technical expertise with a modern, introspective approach. Liebing remains a vital force in electronic music, maintaining a standard of intensity and sonic precision that has shaped the trajectory of European techno for over thirty years.

Akua

Techno

Akua is a Ghanaian-American DJ and producer who has established herself as a prominent figure in the contemporary techno landscape. Originally from Los Angeles and later based in Brooklyn, she relocated to Berlin in 2023 to further develop her craft within the European circuit. Her sound is defined by a raw, mechanized intensity that draws heavily from the rebellious spirit of 1990s North American techno, often incorporating acid-drenched basslines and frenetic percussion. She has performed at major institutions including Berghain, Movement Detroit, and Dekmantel, while maintaining a commitment to archiving and recontextualizing the genre's foundational history. Akua stands out for her no-nonsense, high-velocity mixing style that eschews fleeting trends to prioritize the authentic, driving essence of machine funk.

Black Asteroid

Techno

Black Asteroid is the techno project of Bryan Black, a producer based in New York City who began his career in Minneapolis working as an engineer at Prince's Paisley Park before co-founding the group MOTOR. As Black Asteroid he builds an industrial strain of techno, cold and mechanical, released on labels including Mute Records and Chris Liebing's CLR, where the 2011 track Engine 1 marked his return to the dancefloor. His catalog reaches beyond club techno through vocal collaborations with Zola Jesus, Cold Cave, and Ian Astbury, and the 2024 album Infinite Darkness on Artoffact Records pushed further into post-punk and EBM territory. He performs live with hardware and has appeared at Berghain and across the international techno circuit.
