Venue's final Halloween night, bass-heavy techno and house, Sterling Juan Diaz

About

This Halloween party is billed as the final night ever at Dead Letter No. 9, closing the Brooklyn venue with a masquerade-themed send-off across its CARGO and Foyer rooms. In CARGO, boyyyish opens, Haruka builds the room, and Sterling Juan Diaz closes with bass-heavy underground techno. In the Foyer, KNDYFRK, the duo of Kandylion and SPRFRK, plays a six-hour back-to-back. Costumes are encouraged. 21 and over, with a late-night kitchen and coat check.

House

Dance floor beware! boyyyish is Viet-Mexican club kid who has been in the NYC scene for over a decade. When he’s behind the decks, expect his magnetic groove to transcend genre and time as he takes you anywhere from house, acid, rave, soulful house, latin and beyond while rooted in timeless feeling and flow. His renowned weekly radio show “breakfast with boyyyish” delves into deep cut 80s and 90s electronic music, exploring the origins of a variety of dance music genres across the world. With more than seven seasons on the air it has become a cult favorite amongst DJs. He’s been featured on The Lot Radio, HÖR, BCCO, Apple Music Razor N Tape and Rinse FM. His signature 90s house sound with a modern touch is no less a love letter to the NYC nightlife created by his two mentors Christina Visca [Sound Factory/Paradise Garage/Studio 54] and Susanne Bartsch [Copacabana/Le Bain] for whom he has been a resident DJ and collaborator since 2020. He has supported the likes of Danny Krivit, Inner City, Kevin Saunderson, Todd Edwards, Jellybean Benitez for Glitterbox, Eli Escobar, Rich Medina, Dimitri from Paris, Tedd Patterson, Maurice Fulton, The Egyptian Lover, Hex Hector, Rimarkable, Ewan McVicar, Posthuman for I Love Acid, Tiga, JD Samson, Jubilee, Lauren Flax, Dana Montana, Mestiza, Eliza Rose, SG Lewis to name a few… You can find him regularly at home base clubs Le Bain and House of Yes and as resident DJ for Susanne Bartsch. But no club in NYC is foreign to him from Good Room, Nowadays, The Stranger, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, X-Pizza, Wiggle Room, Lucid Radio, Knockdown Center, Webster Hall, Sony Hall, Paragon, Gitano Island and Public Hotel. As a nightlife scion, he’s also soundtracked many a NYFW event for labels such as Theory, Helmut Lang, Prabal Gurung, Kiehl’s and editorials such as Paper Magazine and Ladygunn. Outside of NYC, his talent has brought him to Berlin, Milan, Tulum, Pavilion Festival in Scotland, Mexico City, Calgary, Bonnaroo Music Festival, South by Southwest, Aspen Gay Ski Week, DC, Pittsburgh, Provincetown Carnival and Fire Island. This tornado of influence is always surprising crowds in his breakneck yet seamless sets and your head will be spinning like a turntable should you lend an open ear before he’s off to the next stage.
