Oden & Fatzo

HEADLINER

Oden & Fatzo feel like one of the better examples of the newer French groove wave actually having personality. The Paris trio work in that space between minimal, house, and funky, broken-up club rhythms, but what makes them land is that their music never feels too clinical or overly polished. There is a looseness to it, warm low end, off-center percussion, little psychedelic touches, and a kind of playful swing that keeps the tracks feeling alive. They come from a more underground club place than a straight festival-house one, and that shows in how their sets tend to prioritize groove, texture, and momentum over obvious payoff moments. They are part of that modern European house lane, but with more bounce and weirdness than a lot of the interchangeable names around them, which is why they have built such a strong reputation with people who actually care about the dancefloor.
