Based in Minneapolis, Zak Khutoretsky, known as DVS1, stands as a central figure in the global techno underground. His sound is defined by deep, hypnotic, and rhythmically complex techno that prioritizes physical impact and long-form immersion. Signature releases such as the 'Love Under Pressure' EP on Klockworks and 'Running' on Transmat demonstrate his commitment to raw, functional, and high-fidelity production. A vocal advocate for club culture and sound quality, he maintains a rigorous approach to DJing, often performing extended sets that emphasize technical precision and narrative flow. He remains a pivotal force in the scene through his HUSH label and his dedication to preserving the integrity of warehouse-style dance music.
