Jamaican experimental dancehall, leftfield rhythms and soundsystem dub

Gavsborg is a Jamaican producer and DJ, a core member of the Kingston collective Equiknoxx alongside Time Cow. His work reshapes dancehall into leftfield, experimental forms, layering off-kilter percussion, dub sensibility and world rhythms over soundsystem foundations. Equiknoxx released a landmark run of records for Demdike Stare's DDS label and has toured widely, including Boiler Room at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. His DJ sets favor uncompromising, ever-shifting grooves. Gavsborg stands among the most inventive voices pushing Caribbean club music into new territory.
