Based in Brooklyn, New York, Lovie is a DJ and curator whose practice bridges the gap between archival research and community-focused dance floor experiences. Originally from Washington, D.C., she gained prominence through her long-running Summer School Radio residency on The Lot Radio, which explores a sonic spectrum spanning ambient, spiritual jazz, soul, and alternative R&B. As a co-founder of the Soul Connection party series, she actively promotes Black femme empowerment within nightlife, fostering inclusive spaces that prioritize connection and musical education. Her club sets are characterized by a patient, soulful approach, weaving together slow-groove disco, funk, and house music with a focus on storytelling and empathy. Recognized as a breakthrough talent in 2024, she holds a residency at the Brooklyn club Public Records and has performed at institutions including MoMA and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
