Red Axes

Psychedelic duo blending disco, rock, and underground vibes.

Red Axes are the Tel Aviv duo Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi, and their whole appeal comes from how comfortably they blur the lines between club music and weirder band-born instincts. They came up playing together long before the Red Axes project, including in the post-punk and new wave band Red Cotton, and that background still shows in the music: you hear disco, house, psychedelic rock, post-punk, electro, and darker leftfield textures all colliding in a way that feels loose, trippy, and unmistakably their own. Rather than chasing clean genre purity, they make dance music that feels dusty, raw, and alive, often layering guitars, shadowy vocals, and odd little rhythmic turns into grooves that still work beautifully in a room. Through releases on labels like Crosstown Rebels and their own Garzen Records, plus appearances at places and festivals like Panorama Bar, Glastonbury, Coachella, and Dekmantel, they have built a reputation as one of the more distinctive acts in the global underground.
